Water. Essential for life, great for corrosion too

Easy moisture analysis in crude, oils and difficult sample matrices.

No one wants water in their oil, fuel or industrial process streams. At low moisture levels, parts per million, where detection limits and accuracy are critical, Coulometric Karl Fischer provides accuracy and repeatability.

Oils and Karl Fischer

Unfortunately, many of the products we need to analyse like crude, engine oils and many process streams, are difficult to introduce directly into a Karl Fischer cell. While analysis is possible, they result in regular cleaning of vessels, syringes and electrodes. Higher reagent costs, too.

Karl Fischer Oven

By using an oven to drive moisture into the Karl Fischer vessel, all of the undesirables remain in a sample vial, not in the Karl Fischer vessel. Less need for vessel cleaning. Fewer changes of reagents, up to a month of analysis with one reagent fill. And it can be automated, no need to rush back to the instrument to inject the next sample.

From one sample to many, computer controlled to standalone, Metrohm’s range of Karl Fischer Oven systems and expert knowledge can save you money and time.
