Pulsed amperometric detectors
Due to matrix complications, detection limit requirements and standard methods, pulsed amperometric detectors, PADs, are common feature of ion chromatography in the pharmaceutical laboratory.
A key benefit of the PAD is its selective nature. Along with the expected chromatography variations in columns and mobile phases, the PAD provides a range of possible variations in setup to ensure accurate analysis.
One example is the working electrode. Various materials are used to improve detection limits and working life of electrodes under optimum conditions. Examples of electrode/application pairings are listed below.
