Microelectrode array (MEA): An ultrasensitive sensor platform

Key Features

DropSens Microelectrode array is an ultrasensitive sensor platform featuring working, auxiliary and reference electrode. The electrode materials (gold or platinum) are precisely deposited on glass substrate via optical lithography technology.

These MEAs facilitate high mass transport due to radial diffusion, rapid attainment of steady state, significantly reduces charging current and delivers high sensitivity due to improved faradaic to charging current ratio.

Possible Applications

MEAs can be potentially used to detect ultralow concentration of

  • biomolecules – proteins, amino acids, vitamins etc
  • biomarkers – to improve human health
  • toxic metal ions – to improve water quality
  • toxic pollutants – to monitor environment

Further modifications of MEA with antibody/aptamer is possible for selective detection of biomarkers in complex biological fluid.
