Online titration: The method we trust

Typical titration performance. RSD 0.15 % from the measured value (FMV).

Despite being an old-fashioned technology, titration method is still widely used to analyse and monitor chemical substances in different processes and industries. Perhaps the reasons are its robustness, great accuracy and reliability. Metrohm Process Analytics offers the most accurate process titrator on the market. Typically titration results are within 0.1 % – 1 % from the measured value (FMV).

When performing titration online, following variables can be eliminated and controlled:

  • Temperature (the temperature during the sampling can be monitored)
  • Time (no time delay before the sample gets analysed after sampling)
  • Human interaction (the analyser system does the sampling with the same way, every time, and can even use different sampling techniques depending of process pressure and temperature).

The typical titration time is 5 minutes to 10 minutes (Result to Result). Metrohm Process Analyzers have a very extensive self-diagnostics to prevent faulty readings and hardware failures. The analyser’s typical annual uptime is 99 %.

Following elements can be determined by titration:
