Trace levels of sugars and sugar alcohols are mainly determined using pulsed amperometric detection. This Application Note shows the determination of nine sugars and sugar alcohols applying an MS detector after desalting. MS detection is advantageous when target analytes are not totally separated. In this case, the SIM mode adds selectivity and allows proper quantification.
