Electrochemistry kit for practical laboratory experiments

Metrohm Dropsens electrochemistry kits provide all the essential instrument & accessories to undertake practical teaching sessions.

Metrohm DropSens Electrochemistry Kit

The Metrohm DropSens Electrochemistry Kit is designed to provide all essentials for an electrochemistry course, lab class or similar teaching event.

Teaching practical electrochemistry is the most effective way to give students the opportunity to discover a passion for that discipline. Practical experiments create the ideal environment to promote fresh ideas and in the end secure the future of this particular branch of science. Unfortunately, time to design new electrochemical practical lab experiments is often limited.

Fresh ideas

Metrohm has long been actively supporting educators around the world with adequate and reliable lecture and teaching materials.

The Metrohm Dropsens Electrochemistry Kit provides the essentials for successful academic training at an very economical price.

It consists of portable potentiostat/galvanostat, electrodes, electrochemical cells, critical accessories, student and professor manuals, all included in a practical carry case.

Practical teaching manuals are available free-of-charge for teachers and students detailing the pre-developed and tested procedures for the following experiments.

  • Determination of ascorbic acid in juice
  • Determination of uric acid in urine
  • Determination of paracetamol in drugs
  • Determination of copper in tap water
  • Determination of glucose in drinks for babies and honey

The experiments have been designed to fit in with Analytical Chemistry Courses (clinical, pharmaceutical, industrial and/or food analysis). The kits offer a clear and pedagogic method for learning electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), square wave voltammetry (SWV) or amperometric detection (AD), simplifying the preparation of the practical sessions and avoiding problems from working with traditional electrodes (mercury hanging electrode, carbon paste electrodes, etc).
