In a single run: automatic water quality analysis

In a single run: automatic water quality analysis

The Metrohm Application Bulletin 178/4 describes how to determine many parameters in a single analytical run.

Physical and chemical parameters for water quality evaluation in a single run

The determination of various physical and chemical parameters is necessary for evaluating water quality:

  • electrical conductivity
  • pH value
  • p and m value (alkalinity)
  • chloride content
  • calcium and magnesium hardness
  • total hardness and
  • fluoride content.

The Metrohm Application Bulletin 178/4 describes how to determine the above-mentioned parameters in a single analytical run.

Additional important parameters for water analysis include

  • the permanganate index (PMI) and
  • the chemical oxygen demand (COD).

This Bulletin also describes the fully automatic determination of PMI according to DIN EN ISO 8467 and of COD according to DIN 38409.
